Rebranding OpenSSL: A Laboratory Perspective
Getting a CMVP validation certificate for an OpenSSL-based product can open access to new markets and customer requirements, but choosing the right validation path is not always straightforward. This session examines the OpenSSL rebranding process from the perspective of an accredited testing laboratory. We will walk through what is required for a successful rebrand, how the process differs from a full validation effort, and what organizations should expect once the certificate is issued. Attendees will gain practical insight into the tradeoffs between rebranding, bound modules, and full validation including cost, effort, timelines and maintenance considerations.
